PA Act 15 - Required Criminal Background Checks

By July 1st. 2016, all adults that work with youth other than their own children will be required to acquire and submit the 3 background Checks before being permitted to participate with the youth organization.  PA Criminal Background, PA State Police Report and FBI Fingerprinting are all required.  The FBI Fingerprinting is not required if you have lived in the state for the last 10 years.  In its place you would fill out the "Disclosure Statement" located as an attachment to the bottom of this page.  For anyone volunteering for registered positions, these are required prior to submitting an adult application form to BSA.

Earlier, I created this page to inform you of the rules and regulations about the new laws pertaining to criminal background checks for those who volunteer with youth.  Rather than re-inventing the wheel, I will instead place a link to the BSA PA Dutch Council's website which explains in detail as to who must have these checks and how to obtain them.  This information changes so check it out often!

Once you have completed your background checks and saved them as Word or pdf files to your desktop, you can go back to the website below and there is a very easy upload so that your information can go directly to the scout office.  If you have any problems with uploading the documents, talk to one of your leaders and they can assist you.
